Power One Soap vs GOJO Pumice Hand Cleaner: Price per Litre, Verified

A litre of Power One Soap costs $9.97 on the 3.55 L refill and $9.89 by the case of four. A litre of GOJO 7255-04 — the 2,000 mL pumice-cleaner cartridges most shops buy four at a time — cost $14.25 to $15.02 at two distributors when we verified prices on 2026-08-06. On the one number both products publish, price for volume, Power One comes in about 30% lower. Here is the math, what it does and does not tell you, and the honest cases where GOJO is still the right buy.

The short version

This post is for the shop owner or facilities buyer who already stocks GOJO 7255-04 and wants to know whether switching to Power One Soap saves money. Five facts carry the whole decision:

• Power One 3.55 L refill: $35.40, or $9.97 per litre. The case of 4 × 3.55 L runs $140.50, or $9.89 per litre.
• GOJO 7255-04 (4 × 2,000 mL = 8.0 L): $113.98 at Masterman's and $120.15 at a second distributor, both verified 2026-08-06 — that is $14.25 and $15.02 per litre.
• Power One is 30.0% below the cheapest verified GOJO case price on the single refill, and 30.6% below it by the case.
• We publish no cost-per-wash comparison against GOJO. GOJO publishes no dose for 7255-04, so there is no honest way to compute one.
• GOJO still wins in specific cases: single-bottle purchases at retail, wider distributor stocking, and shops with GOJO dispenser hardware already on the wall.

Why not compare cost per wash?

Cost per wash is the better metric in principle, and it is the one we use for our own products. It needs two numbers: the price of the container and the dose per wash. We can publish both for Power One Soap because our dose is metered and owner-confirmed — 710 washes per 3.55 L, dispensed neat at a 5.0 mL pump, which works out to $0.0499 per wash on the $35.40 refill.

GOJO publishes no millilitres-per-push figure for 7255-04. Without a manufacturer dose, any per-wash number for it is an assumption dressed up as a measurement, and the assumption silently decides the winner. So we do not publish one — in either direction. We compare price per litre instead: a price and a volume, both of which you can check without trusting us.

The verified numbers

All four prices below were checked on 2026-08-06. Ours come from our own product pages and are current as of publication. The GOJO prices are distributor prices as of that date — distributor prices move, so follow the link and re-check before you rely on the gap.

The arithmetic is division, nothing else: $35.40 ÷ 3.55 L = $9.97, and $113.98 ÷ 8.0 L = $14.25. Against the cheaper of the two verified GOJO case prices, the Power One refill is 30.0% less per litre and the case of four is 30.6% less.

One sourcing note: the Masterman's listing shows the exact four-pack with a purchasable case price, and confirms 7255-04 as a current SKU still sold as four 2,000 mL cartridges — no rename, no pack change. The second price comes from a second distributor, verified the same day. This is a comparison against a live, currently sold product, not a discontinued one.

A litre of Power One is not a litre of GOJO

Price per litre settles the cost side only if the two litres do comparable work, so the formulation differences belong on the table. Power One Soap is a true concentrate — only about 20% water — scrubbed by roughly 20% walnut shell by weight, with six skin emollients and zero petroleum solvents. The surfactants are USDA bio-based, and the formula is USDA Certified Bio-Based at 70%+ under the USDA BioPreferred Program. It is Made in the USA and ships from Lyndhurst, NJ.

GOJO 7255-04 is a pumice-based cleaner. Pumice and walnut shell are genuinely different abrasives — hardness, particle geometry, and what repeated daily washing does to the skin barrier — and that argument is made in full in Walnut Shell vs Pumice Soap, not re-argued here. For this comparison it is enough that both are shop-grade abrasive hand cleaners bought for the same sink.

Dispensing is the one thing we will only say about our own product: the 3.55 L bottle loads upside-down into a metered wall unit that gives one measured pump per wash, so a litre leaves the bottle at a known rate. Whether a litre of 7255-04 leaves its cartridge faster or slower than that, we do not know — and we will not guess.

What switching actually involves

Switching a shop from GOJO 7255-04 to Power One touches the hardware at the sink, not just the soap order, because 7255-04 is a dispenser refill. Our wall unit is $18.95 on its own — guaranteed for life — or $53.50 bundled with the first 3.55 L bottle. It is an open system: it takes the standard 3.55 L refill bottle, not a proprietary cartridge, so the hardware cost is one-time.

The compliance backdrop is worth one sentence for a facilities buyer. OSHA's sanitation standard, 29 CFR 1910.141(d), requires workplaces to provide hand-washing facilities with similar cleansing agents — hand cleaner is a standing cost, and price per litre is the lever you control. Where GOJO is the better buy

There are three cases where GOJO 7255-04 is the better purchase, and they are not edge cases.

• You need a bottle today. GOJO is stocked at auto-parts retail in smaller single-bottle sizes; you can walk out with one this afternoon. Our smallest size is the 400 mL bottle at $11.95 — $29.88 per litre, roughly triple our own refill rate — and it ships to you rather than waiting on a shelf nearby. For a one-bottle buyer, the per-litre argument in this post does not apply.
• Your walls already hold GOJO dispensers. A shop with GOJO hardware at every sink has real switching friction: dispensers to replace, a crew used to a different pump, an interim period running two systems. None of that cost appears in the table above.
• Distributor consolidation. GOJO is carried by more distributors in more places. If your purchasing runs through a catalog that stocks GOJO and not us, one consolidated order has a value of its own.

Those are real advantages, and they are not small.

Bottom line

On the number both products publish, Power One Soap is about 30% cheaper per litre than GOJO 7255-04 at verified distributor case prices: $9.97–$9.89 against $14.25–$15.02, checked 2026-08-06.
